2022 GCSE Results

The students of Preston Muslim Girls High School are celebrating success in their GCSE results. These are the first GCSE examinations taken since 2019 and once again, the school has maintained its very high standards with high pass rates in many subjects and some outstanding results for individual students.

PMGHS are delighted to report that over 220 grades 8 and 9 were achieved with special congratulations going to so many pupils:

·  Aleyah Yusuf (7 grade 9s and 3 grade 8s)

·   Zoyah Hussain (3 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and 2 grade 7s)

·   Maariah Patel (5 grade 9s, 4 grade 8s and a 7)

·    Amina Khan (4 grade 9s, 3 grade 8s, a 7 and a 6)

·    Zainab Bax (2 grade 9s and 7 grade 8s)

The new school measures seek to recognise the progress that pupils make during their time at school, not just their final results. Preston Muslim Girls High School has been recognised as having the highest progress scores in Lancashire, placing us 10th in the whole country. The focus upon progress continues with some students making more than three grades better progress than expected. Well done to Mariya S Patel, Amina Khan and Insha Nawaz who top the school’s list for those who have made the most progress during their time at school.

The Headteacher, Mufti Javid, said, “Once again, our students have done themselves, their community and our school proud. These results are a culmination of five years of both hard work and high-quality teaching. I would like to congratulate all the girls on what they have achieved.  PMGHS has rightly been recognised as an outstanding school by Ofsted and nationally recognised for its high standards and these pupils have had to work exceptionally hard for what they have achieved.  The last few years have seen all pupils having to work through quite challenging circumstances and therefore a special thank you goes out to all of the staff and parents for their support and belief. We know how important this partnership is in ensuring that our pupils achieve and often exceed their potential. I would like to wish all of our leavers the very best for their next steps and I look forward to hearing of their future successes. Well done to them all!”
