Catering
The catering service at Preston Muslim Girls High School provides nutritious, balanced meals, and we work to educate the pupils on how to make healthier food choices. All foods we provide meets the national nutritional standards. School Meals are the best way to make sure your child is getting all the nutrients they need to be able to learn. Lunch time at PMGHS is an important part of the school day and we are proud to provide an excellent menu for our students and staff.
Our catering team at the school works with the school Shura team to tailor menus to the tastes and preferences of the pupils. We introduce further interests and excitement to our menus through themed lunches ranging from cuisines around the world, tying these into the school curriculum wherever possible.
School meals
Food is prepared daily in our canteen by Lancashire County Council who run a 3-week menu cycle which is changed every term. However please note that many additional items are added to the daily menu. Fresh ingredients are delivered and cooked each day and our menu complies with all the governing school meal regulations, and all our meats are HMC certified. There are nutritious, hot and cold choices available at break and lunch time.
The cost of a free school meal is £2.50
‘Meal Deals’ are only £2.50 and include a main meal and a choice of a dessert, fruit, yoghurt or water.

Packed Lunches
If you wish your child to bring a packed lunch this can be eaten in the dining hall. We strongly discourage fizzy drinks, sweets etc. We recommend parents send their girls with healthy lunches consisting of fruit, sandwiches, healthy snacks and water. This will allow the pupils to concentrate and focus through out lessons.
