We believe in the principle that all pupils having an entitlement to a wide curriculum and a full high school experience. We work extremely hard to make sure all of our students achieve their individual, educational potential and we employ a dedicated team of specialists to look after the needs of all of our pupil and particularly those who may need additional support.
Through a detailed transition programme with our partner primary schools, children who may need additional support are identified early in their school career. To support this, we have a dedicated Inclusion Team who, under the guidance of an experienced and qualified SENCO {Special Educational Needs Coordinator), plans and provides the extra help for our students who face additional challenges or who may have difficulties accessing the curriculum.
In some instances pupils may be withdrawn from lessons to receive additional support individually or in small groups, or more frequently they will receive additional support in the subject lessons by our team of Learning Support Staff.
Our aim is to enable all of our pupils to access the entirety of the National Curriculum and to fully participate in the wider life of the school and the personal development opportunities it offers. All courses and groupings are constructed to enable students to be correctly challenged in their learning with due regard to the equally important needs of all children, from the most gifted to those who experience learning difficulties.
If you have a question about Inclusion please contact the school on the info@pmghs.com address and make an appointment with Mrs Bangee (SENCO), to discuss your question.
