Exam Assessments

Exam Assessments

Pupils are assessed on a regular basis throughout the year. This is how teachers determine what pupils know and can do and this helps them to plan and structure future learning. At least twice each term there will be a more formal assessment. Pupils will receive diagnostic feedback and three times a year parents will be sent a report that gives details of progress to target and attitude to learning. All pupils will take part in end of year tests which are formal tests based on that year’s work and intended to prepare pupils for the final examinations that they will take at the end of Year 11. In addition, there is a mock examination programme in the second part of the autumn term to give pupils some practice in exam conditions. The outcomes of end of year and mock examinations will be shared with parents.
