Choosing options is an important time for Year 9 pupils as they make important decisions about their future. Making choices about your future can be quite exciting, but it can also be a little daunting. The options booklet contains all the information pupils and parents need to make an informed decision about the subjects they will study in Key Stage 4. All pupils complete an options programme during Year 9 in order to allow a three year course of study for GCSE. Pupils and parents are provided with high-quality information, advice and guidance before they make their choices in the spring term. We structure the options programme to ensure that all pupils follow a broad and balanced curriculum through to Year 11. The core subjects are compulsory for all pupils and in addition we ensure that all pupils will continue to study RE, a language and humanities through to GCSE in addition to another subject of their choice.
