The Girl Scouts recently organized a special morning for over 60-year-old widowers – Nanas & Dadas, in their community, bringing together a heartfelt and meaningful event that combined khidmah, culture, and nostalgia.
The event was designed to show appreciation for the elder members of the community while also fostering a sense of togetherness. The Girl Scouts wanted to extend the hand of Khidmah in order to send out a message that our Nanas & Dadas are highly respected and considered.
The morning began with a warm and traditional Desi breakfast, featuring a variety of flavourful dishes like parathas, chai, aloo keema, and sweet treats. The smell of freshly prepared food filled the air, creating a comforting atmosphere where everyone felt welcomed and cherished.
As the widowers sat together, enjoying the delicious breakfast, the Girl Scouts engaged them in conversation, offering a chance to reminisce about the past. Many of the Nanas & Dadas shared fond memories of the early days of the school, recounting how it has grown over the years and how it has shaped the community they know and love.
For the Girl Scouts, it was an opportunity to connect the generations, listening to their words of wisdom and above all take their heartfelt duas.
