The Lancashire Book of the Year celebration event took place on Friday 7th of July and 9 of our pupils from the LBOY book club attended. They had a great day listening to talks from the shortlisted authors and were able to purchase books and have them signed too!

The winning author was announced at the event – Cynthia Murphy won for a second year running with her new book, Win Lose Kill Die. The sixteen pupils taking part in the Lancashire Book of the Year event as student judges, met this week to discuss their opinions on the eleven books currently on the shortlist. They also recognised the books that have been read less frequently, compared to the others, and talked about why this might be. Taking this into account, as well as the thoughts of the other pupil judges, each pupil decided on two or three more titles that they wish to read.
