Preston Muslim Girls High is in the top 100 state schools in the country, which puts it in the top three per cent of non-selective schools.
A letter from Schools Minister David Laws congratulated headteacher Mufti Javid Pathan on the “excellent value added score” the school achieved in 2014.
The accolade was a direct result of the high level of improvement shown in pupils’ progress between starting at the high school and doing their GCSEs.
