Gill Dummigan (BBC Journalist and Health Correspondent) visited our school to deliver workshops on journalism to our Year 9 and 10 pupils. She talked to the girls about the intense day of a journalist and the whole process of choosing stories for the news.
The pupils were also taught how to edit their recordings and produce a news report ready for a wider audience. An invaluable experience provided to the pupils with a range of transferable skills that they can employ during their GCSEs.
The pupils were also given the task of preparing a news report on the advantages and disadvantages of mobile phones in schools.
