Last week, 7 pupils from our Lancashire Book of the Year Book Club attended a workshop in Preston along with Year 9 pupils from four other local schools. They took part in thought-provoking discussions about the books nominated for the competitions longlist, and learned a lot about thinking critically when judging which books should be voted through to the next stage of the competition.
The Book Club will be meeting this week in school to make an important decision. As student judges they have the responsibility to vote for the six books they have enjoyed the most so far, and want to see make it onto the shortlist and possibly go on to win the competition in the summer!
