Edge Hill RE Teachers visit PMGHS

On Monday 2nd March, as part of a programme delivered by Think Brite and 1st Ethical Charitable Trust, trainee RE teachers from Edge Hill University were given the opportunity to interact with and discuss key areas of Islamic beliefs and practises with a fantastic group of Year 10 pupils from Preston Muslim Girls High School.

The role of the girls was to highlight some basic Muslim beliefs and practises to Trainee RE teachers and lead on a discussion of their faith and be part of a series of Q&A sessions.

Mr Waquas Ali, Managing Director of 1st Ethical, said “I was very impressed with the calibre of the PMGHS pupils who took part in the dialogue and impressed at their confidence in communicating their understanding of Islam to a group of trainee teachers who they had not previously met. Well done to the girls who were an asset to their school and wonderful ambassadors of their faith?”

This training allowed our learners to participate within the community within a diverse situation, they displayed some fantastic values not only which echoed our school values and ethos but of the British values.
